Jan, I wouldn't place much weight on option volume
on July options that are abut to expire. Could be daytraders
taking advantage of the leverage provided by the options.
Could be spread traders. Also, since AMZN trades in good volume,
on several exchanges, there are traders that make a science
out of arbitraging one exchange's price against the other.
I have trouble believing that options market makers can control
a stock like AMZN which is trading 2M or more shares per day,
but since no other news is driving the stock price, maybe the
offsetting trades for AMZN options really do move the stock
to a nearby strike, and kill the implied vols. Looks like the
next big eveent remains: the earnings announcment.

off-topic: BCST sets new standard for net mania:

Broadcast.com Opens: You won't believe this one. Stock finally
opens and is trading at 72 1/2 up 300% from its offering price of $18. This one
could get ugly for those investors who placed at the market buy orders for this
stock. Intraday high 74.
