remember this company is called financial INTRANET not internet so i don't think the internet site will be that important YET. later with the IBD aquisition and possible future aquisitions maybe a good web site will be more important.

Reminds me of FNTN......

The San Jose Mercury News (7/11/98) asked 15 community
and business leaders to tell briefly about the most important
changes in business conditions, technology, and competitive
markets in their fields and about the changes they expect in
the near to medium term.

Karl Geng, President and CEO of Siemens Business Communication
Systems Inc., replied:

"The realization that voice, data, and video are fundamentally
the same has finally taken hold. This will have a profound effect
on everyone in Silicon Valley in the networking industry. We
now have the technology to merge these once separate
areas and the compelling financial arguments to make this a
reality.

Companies involved in the transmission of pure data don't
understand how to connect everyone, everywhere with full
reliability. I believe that it's the people and companies from
the traditional telephone side who can build these newly
converged networks with the proper level of reliability and
service guarantees.

The traditional voice industry's collective expertise is fundamental
to making access to any information, on any device, as simple
and reliable as using the telephone. The Net needs to be
expanded exponentially to include the world.

There are more than 600 million telephones, each able to be
connected to any other, at any time. We believe that we can
and must do the same with the Net. Soon, there will be one
network for all applications. We will see a lot more cooperation
and more consolidation in the telecom and networking arenas."

Dear Group, Just got back from a 9 hour round trip to Ithaca NY and back. Delighted to say that on my way up I dropped in on FNTN and had a more than delightful visit with Maura and Michael. Even got to spend a few minutes with Mr. Haggerty himself. Have many posts to go through to see what transpired on the thread, but needless to say, I was there during cable crisis. I will personally be going back to torch the offending backhoe that has deprived all of you from what I was privileged to see. I got to preview the web site and I do not think than any of you will be disappointed. Maura and Michael were beside themselves that they were not able to go on line today. I will post more tomorrow when I get some badly needed rest and all the Mickey D's I ate today settles. Ugh! I am so proud to be associated with this company. These people have poured their hearts and souls into this company and it shows.

I must to bed. Will post more tomorrow. I will sleep like a baby, knowing that MS & MM & KH are on the watch.
