Paul, Rod or others: Following was posted today on the Web-site of "WORLD OIL" magazine and indicates that the 7/18/98 issue of the magazine may have some information of interest to all of us: <<<Ecopetrol touts investment opportunities in Colombia. Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol presented the potential of Colombian oil exploration opportunities at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists' Annual Meeting. The nation holds possible undiscovered reserves of 37 billion bbl in 18 basins, almost 90% of which are open for exploration. Ecopetrol is developing the first Areas Tender Call, which could offer 17 E&P projects with estimated potential reserves of 4,000 to 6,500 million bbl. The second round will include19 projects. Meanwhile, a Texaco Inc. subsidiary and Shell E&P signed contracts with Ecopetrol to explore 12 million acres in water depths up to 9,842 ft offshore Guajira in northern Colombia. Initial work includes acquiring seismic, magnetic and gravity data, and reprocessing of existing seismic data.>>> If anyone has the issue, a review of the article would be appreciated. TIA Steve
