Like NSCP with browsers, I don't think that players are where it is at for RNWK.

Companies like BCST pay *plenty* for RealNetwork *servers*, and they pay by the stream. (Not just a flat price per server!)

A 400-stream license, for example, goes for $21,595, plus $8,635/yr for support. Here's the full price list:

Yes, ads ARE the promise of content providers and portal site. The problem is, nobody has figured out how to actually make money on them yet. If you project out far enough, yes you can project profits. But to get there requires VERY deep pockets, which is why I think there has been a move aggregation into the traditional media and telephone companies. They have deep pockets.
