Robert - Re: "The question is just how long will they be buying Pentium II if Motorola gains access to manufacturer and embedded K6?"

How long do you think it will take Motorola to design and manufacture these chips? 6 months, 9 months -- a year?

And how long will it take Motorola to design the chips into products and sell these products? Another 6 months?

And by then, Intel will have 400 MHz and higher Mobile Pentium IIs that will probably be even cheaper than today's 266 Mhz Mobile Pentium IIs.

So, don't look for overnight miracles for AMD or Motorola.

Just remember where AMD is today vs. their "promise" of April 2, 1997.
