Hanging tough? Maybe -- the OSX is only down 2% from the opening spike.

I think expiration is affecting everything today, not necessarily in a good sense.

Hmmm...tough may be a relative concept. The few remaining driller & OS stocks I'm holding didn't look all that tough to me today. For instance, what's with the fire sale on SCSWF? Did they not just blow away estimates to the upside by ~50%? What, the street doesn't like the DIVE acquisition? (sigh)

Otoh, my recollection is that even back in the good old days it was usually about this point in the earnings reporting cycle that the stocks in this sector began to pull back. Seems to me like the expected pop on earnings was always over before RIG and some others reported.

Anyway, hopefully they'll hang even tougher next week.
