Actuate Software jumps 6 after $11 IPO

I have some experience with the product and therefore here is my .02 cents worth. Following some bugs and lots of problems they eliminated most of the problems with their product in the later versions. The latest version of the product is okay. I think their main problem is marketing. They need to advertise and most importantly capture corporate accounts. Unless they do that, this company will be a good candidate to short. They develop a reporting tool for corporations. Personally I wouldn't buy it (shares) because I do not see growth there. This is a software company with a product which need to be promoted in the corporate industry which is very competitive. However, compared with other tools from similar vendors this company's product is very good. I would wait several quarters of earnings before making decision. I would love to see them grow because I am a professional with a very good knowledge about their product however from financial perspective I want to wait and see. Good luck.
In summary, they are in a slow growth industry and they have to prove earnings growth.
Bye,
