Lee, my pleasure. I left out a couple of important observations. Mikey indicated that all Dell's shipped post-1996 are y2k ready (some may need a routine BIOS upgrade). He also indicated that the y2k problem represents an opportunity to Dell since many companies will be replacing PC's because of software issues.

Dell is focused on the END-TO-END CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. This focuses on order fulfillment->Delivery,set-up, and operation->service. This focuses the entire process on maximizing customer service starting at the point an order is placed (when a Dell employee touches a customer or potential customer).

Dell is focusing on expanding on the direct growth in the higher margin business (servers, workstations and storage). By the way, Mikey indicated that servers grew 229% year over year. Pretty impressive growth in units and market share.

:o)
