I got involved when one of their representatives pulled out a tiny, silver piece of material--it was about the size of the flat end of a pencil eraser--and told me that it was the equivalent of an 886 CPU. This was back in 1994 when the 486 was still fairly standard. You know, I am pretty sure that it wasn't REALLY an 886. I doubt it would have done anything if someone plugged it in. I do think the rep. believed he was telling the truth, but I imagine that someone above him knew it was snake oil.
