To All,

I live in suburban Philadelphia and I've heard some rumors about
a daytrading office opening up in Center City Philadelphia - the
story I heard is that its going to be right across the street from the
Philly Stock Exchange. That would be great cause there's a train
station right there. I'm very interested in daytrading, but really
think that I would be better off in an office type environment
rather than trading remote. I know a couple of people who have
daytraded up in New York and they say that the synergy that is
generated by all the traders in the office is a big plus.

Has any one else heard about a Philly office? As of now I haven't
heard anything about the type of software that they're using or who
they're affiliated with.

I'll keep digging and if I hear anything I'll pass it along.

Irby, I think the new rules will be less influential than what most thought at first:
A 1,000-share tier size is applied to those Nasdaq National Market securities that
have an average daily non-block volume of 3,000 shares or more a day, a bid price
that is less than or equal to $100, and three or more market makers.

rules are listed on naz web site (date 98 4-4):

nasdr.com

I would say this:

Although the abolition of the 5 minute rule seems to be a logical extension of the Actual Size rule taking effect for all NASDAQ stocks, most firms I've spoken with are waiting until they hear definitively from the SRO's or SEC before they decide to tell traders to wack 'em with abandon. I personally am going to hold back until I see something posted on www.nasdaqtrader.com or hear from some other reputable source.

35 minutes 'til it all starts - should be interesting!
