The last one is for us traders who leave to much money on the table by trading too much.

I'm guilty...

"Don't stop the parade to pick up a dime."

The last one is for us traders who leave to much money on the table by trading too much.

Usually a trader is always eyeing greener pastures.

As much as I like to trade, it is a very expensive investment strategy. And has cost me this year. I had adopted it early in the year when the January effect didn't materialize and the market was full of correction jitters. I am now able to calculate what fear of a major correction and trading has cost me. The over all strategy of buying quality stocks that have been beaten down is a sound one. Once you find them and have entered low never sell your core positions. I have tried to keep to this disciple because it has cost me many times by not sticking to it.

I just came across a trade slip 12/31/97 BOT 1600 ASND @24 1/2 $39,229.00

Today ASND is $53 3/4 ...that's....$86,000 to the penny!

I can sadly say I have made less than $46,771 on Ascend in the last 6 months!

It is my investing goal to find the companies that have the potential to double in 12 mos. ASND did it in 6. It's ok to trade stocks like Ascend....just don't trade your core positions. If you have a problem with that have your broker mail you the certificate. I have a few.<g>

I think this is a valid example to be learned here by all of us. Even though you may still be making money elsewhere is it performing as well had you held. I only have one stock that I have held for over 5 yrs. that has not performed over the period. NOVL

The people who are making the most money in the market today have been buying dips and not selling.
