I think you miss my point. I should make it more clear. I know that Sun is a player (with servers and RAIDS already) and will be a player in the Fibre Channel market. Now, they do not make a switch...they will most likely OEM a FC switch from Brocade. My question is whether or not it is rational for SUN to broaden their product line into networking/storage equipment like switches, which is where the LAN and WAN are evolving (ie. witness BAY and CSCO getting into Layer 3 Switching and the success of Cascade)???? A similar evolution will occur in the SAN and perhaps Sun should start getting more involved in this market to find growth.
