victor,

i thought the stock price is determined not only by number of trades but also by the volume traded? i mean 10 trades of 100 shares are not going to move the price, but 1 trade of 10000 shares might be able to. am i wrong?

Yes.. in a nutshell.. a lot of little trades is often more effective than a big one. The reason is, with 100 share trades, you are more likely to get the little guy to buy.. and there are a LOT more little guys than big guys.
