I was stopped out at a little under 85 so I took a loss on my AVP short position. The company reported an improved outlook for Q2 and First Boston added it to their focus list. I'm guessing that the sales growth came domestically. My mistake was that I thought their problems overseas would hurt them quite a bit. Combine this with the fact that the market is going to Pluto and I'm thanking my lucky stars that my loss was relatively small. Imagine what would've happened if they announced they were selling cosmetics on the internet! :^D

I'm also short anothr NYSE stock - BGG (initial position between 38 and 39), and that one is working out much better since they are getting hit with problems in Asia, in Europe, and domestically (lost sales to Honda, increasing debt, lower margins, lousy weather). It is currently around 35, and I think it will take an additioanl hit after earnings are released (which I was expecting this week, but I guess they're still not ready.)

Oops- just rechecked the earnings calendar...they are now due 7/31.
