If they are successful, we will see the kind of longer term gains that I have enjoyed in the past - I am currently up over 5X over the last 2 years! If CPQ did that again we would be at 200 in summer of 2000...

thanks for the feedback, thats certainly what i am expecting and why i'll patiently stay long until at least the end of the year.

just thinking in general about channel vs. direct... my first pc 4 years ago was a gateway pentium 60 which i paid almost $3000 for... my second pc is going to be a "white box" ... pII-300 for $699 (15" monitor included). with the price points getting so low, i am reluctant to pay $100 for shipping... thats 14% of the total cost. as cheap as components are getting, that $100 could buy me an extra 96 mb ram, a 3d accelerator card, or whatever.

also, with intel's accelerated technology pace, i plan on getting a new sub 1000 pc every year. with CPQ saying their cheapest presario's are their most profitable i hope these trends will be a boon to CPQ's bottom line.
