I don't see anything that would carry over to AWRE here...You?? Analog Devices Estimates Third Quarter Revenues NORWOOD, Mass., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI - news) today announced that sales for the third quarter of fiscal 1998, which ends August 1, 1998, could be approximately 10% below the $333 million posted for the second fiscal quarter. This assessment was based on the company's results for the first two months of the quarter and the generally poor business conditions that continue throughout the semiconductor industry. The company also said it believes earnings will likely be down by a larger percentage than sales. The company cited as specific reasons for the anticipated revenue shortfall the dramatic downturn in the automatic test equipment (ATE) market caused by the overall decline in the semiconductor market, weak demand in the distribution channel and the depressed business environments in both Southeast Asia and Japan. ''Despite the short-term uncertainties in the worldwide semiconductor business environment,'' said Jerald G. Fishman, President and CEO, ''we believe that our strong positions in the analog and DSP IC markets, coupled with the numerous key design-ins we have achieved with many large OEMs, have positioned us to substantially improve our performance as the semiconductor market recovers. These new, large opportunities suggest that the third quarter of fiscal 1998 could be the trough of the current semiconductor cycle for Analog Devices.'' Analog Devices expects to announce its third-quarter results on August 19th at approximately 8:00 a.m. Safe harbor statement under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995: Forward-looking statements in this news release involve risk and uncertainty.
