WC,

The example showed that DELL would reach $150 it the stock rises 'only' 1 5/8 per market day for the next 20 days. On 7/7 the price was $91 - now $117 - let's see, $26 in 8 market days = 3 1/4 per market day, that is 2 times the required for $150. I didn't mean to indicate that this was 'in the bag', just 'doable'.

If the stock does not go to $150 now, it will later! Go DELL!

Regards,

Ken

Similar damage on my part...
Wrote call on Jan 120 calls couple weeks ago (when Dell was 94!).
Thought that was smart! Now I have to settle for 127 net sale and
get hooked till Jan 99. Or buy back the calls selling now at about
$18!. I'think I'll just stay hooked for now. Any thoughts anyone?

RMO.

Oh Guys, I sure hope you're wrong. Sold Aug $120 calls.

Oh, no, Walt. Do you want your shares to be called from you??? The stock closed at 117 9/16 (on Friday) and we have 22 trading days until earnings. Did you forget that Gateway announces on Thursday of this week? If Gateway beats the estimate, watch for DELL to gap up on Friday.

of course, all of this stuff is just IMHO, okay?

Walt,
I assume those were covered calls you sold. If I were you, I would buy calls to close. It is unimaginable that DELL won't hit at least 130 or more before earnings are reported. 140 or 150 is more likely if Gateway has a good report this week. I think it is likely DELL will pull back after their earnings announcement on the 18th of August. It will probably move back about 10 points by the expiration of options that Friday. On the bright side, when you get called, you will still have made money. But you will have fewer shares and face paying taxes on the profit you made on those shares called.
