Cars that used to cost $500 now are $20,000 and up. Cars that got 35 mpg in the 20's now get 20mpg (and they're proud of it) Cars that could be fixed with two wrenches and a screwdriver at home, can't be touched without a computer and a $200 (minimum) bill Cars that used to simply crash, now crash and break you neck with the airbags Cars that used to go through mud 8 inches deep, now get stuck on wet grass Cars that were built in the 20's still run, and cars built in the 70's have turned to rust, and can't be driven Cars that had real gauges, now have idiot lights, and when the bulb burns out, you have no warning that there is a problem(there goes the engine) Cars that used to need fuel and a battery to keep going, now quit for no apparent reason due to the on board computer failure, which mysteriously is working when you have it towed to the shop Cars that used to crash for no apparent reason, still do Cars that GM built explode with side impact collisions, Ford with rear Cars that had only one driver, still only have one driver,(except the back seat driver) Cars that cost $60,000 (Viper) can't even legally go that fast (but it tempts morons to) Cars that have airbags can go off for no apparent reason, and break your neck again Cars that used to be safe, are often under investigation by the Consumer protection group...explosions, fires, faulty parts, paint peeling off...ad infinitum Cars that had sturdy metal in them now have tin foil Cars that used to have simple controls, now need a 1' book to use Cars that used to have one price, now have many Cars that used to go from point A to point B still do (sometimes) Cars that used to open easily, now lock you out for fun (only $100 to get in) Cars now require you to put on the BRAKE to start them Cars that used to go in a foot of snow can't handle 4 inches Cars that used to have 60 manufacturers now have 6 (fair trade no doubt) Demonstration of driving skills? Must be tough, death rate goes up every year
