Carl,

I'm sure you've read Andy's reply to my original question. It is as I suspected, any new issues won't get picked up in my Virtual directories. At least not automatically.

In the interest of time, I don't think I'm going to do anything about it today. My plan was to re-invent this about monthly, but Andy says weekly would be better. However, the next time I decide to do it, I think I'll go with your idea (or Andy's) to create just one big merged file.

That way, I don't have to rename each directory after I do the merge. And, if I understand it correctly, I can just go to this big merged directory within WOW and call any symbol I want. Just like I can do this in QP Charts now.

I'm going to print off those messages having to do with creating the merged file, so I can do it when I'm ready. Probably next weekend. Meanwhile, keep that boat tied to the dock, 'cause I'm gonna need some coaching, I'm sure.

Boy, do I envy you!

Ken

Carl...

Out of curiosity, I just went in and spot checked 6-7 of my subdirectories. The symbol I used to name the subdir is still the first one in the list. I've been updating these now for over 2 weeks, so they aren't changing.

Of course, in the past two weeks, anything new that's been added by QP to the main database isn't in mine.

How long did it take you to merge all these things together? I'm liking that idea more and more. I don't use any of the WOW scans anymore, as they are far too slow. So I just need to be able to pick and choose the few symbols I want to examine up close and personal from the merged list. Sounds like it would be perfect.
