Generic Drug Market Picks Up Where Patents Left Off

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 1998--Emerging
Company Report, the nationally syndicated television program that
profiles emerging-growth companies (http://www.emergingcompany.com),
features an interview this week with the people behind DynaGen Inc.
(Nasdaq:DYGN).

Chairman Bob Cusick and director of Corporate Communications
Cathy Bardwick discussed DynaGen's business strategy toward the
generic pharmaceuticals business. "Lately, pharmaceutical companies
like Glaxo Wellcome (NYSE:GLX) have been very hot on Wall Street as
new, patented drugs are introduced," said Cusick.

"Once those patents expire, it opens the door for generic
versions of those drugs to be manufactured and sold. Industry
estimates are that the generic drug market will expand from the
current $8 billion to $15-16 billion per year."

Over the next four years, there are a number of branded drugs
that enjoy large market share, whose patents are due to expire.
DynaGen feels it is positioned, through its business strategy, to grow
its company from $25 million to $100 million per year over the next
several years.
