Chuzz,

That is 'great' advice for a 'financial advisor' because it prevents them from getting into a 'court' battle later! I wonder how much $ diversification Bill Gates or Michael Dell have? Of course I have to admit that they have a 'vested interest' and then point to Warren Buffet who is quite 'diversified'. Does that mean that I only have to hold Berkshire Hathaway in order to be 'diversified', or how about a mutual fund, is 'one' enough (as it it already diversified) or do I need 10 - 15, sort of diversifying the 'diversified'?

Kind of like hunting with a 'shotgun' vs a 'rifle'. A shotgun is sure to 'hit' something, while a 'rifle' hits a 'target'!

I think that diversification is of far more importance when the investor cannot actively take part in their investments, as is surely the case of most workers. JMHO however!

Regards,

Ken

if a stock splits there are more investors on the low end to buy at a lower cost so the price goes up. i know a split doesnt add more to your investment. but i just wanted to put my two cent in because i bought my first shares (5 x 84=$420 cost). but now my shares are
40 x 117=$4650-420=$4230 profit) my point being know one would have been able to buy the shares at $1000+. as others have said, the stock
goes up pre split faster than any other time, it doesnt mean it will stay high, but dell does stay up???????????

Chuz,

Thank you! I value your opinion. I am doin' ok with diversification except all my stocks are tech. DELL, CPQ(wife), LU, CSCO, QWST, ERICY & AMGN(wife). Bought most of them with DELL money.
