It so happens that largest switches, most reliable switches, large ATM switches, the ATM standard itself, and yes, the software that runs them, are all made and were made for years by telco equipment manufactures, and, in particular, by LU.

Not that I endorse buying it at present prices.

Analog has been 'dead' for sometime now, except a-way-out-in-the-tulies! Usually analog to digital conversion is the first thing that is done. As far as 'switching' is concerned, it is all digital data in the larger switches.

What do you think might happen if CSCO and LU get in a the middle of bidding contest for the company in Australia (JNA).Who wants or needs it more? rf
