Shalom, I see that I didn't phrase this very well. "By the way, I'm getting a little tired of you guys thinking that you need to explain the Bible's words to me as if you have a special gift."

This would have been better. "I'm getting tired of the way you guys think that you have a special gift for interpreting the Bible that the rest of us don't possess."

In my opinion, you put the blinders on when you come to passages like Christine and I have posted, and replace them with your own perceptions of what they said. Your response to my question is a good example.

" How would you choose Shalom?"

<< I have already chosen. I have chosen to serve the LORD my God. He is an Awesome God. A most loving and gracefilled God....there is none like Him! Praise His Holy Name.! >>

You know very well that I was talking about becoming a slave to the Israelis or fighting, but you put your own spin on the question.

Let me rephrase it.

If you were one of the residents of the cities that your god told the Israelis to conquer, would you choose to be a slave of those Israelis, or to fight them, knowing that they were going to kill everybody in your city, including the women and children?
