Just one questions:
If I own call options on Dell, does that make me a Dellhead too? <VBG>

Donald, thanks for the very detailed and interesting trip report. Sure seems that Dell has its manufacturing act together. How many assembly plants are in the local area? Or, is this the only plant in Texas?

Again, thanks for such a detailed report. Sound like you and the other SI "team members" had a great time.

Donald ---- excellent recap of the tour;

I think our tour guide said it was about 2 hours to load the software and the do the system burn ---- and that after some sort of change in this process, DELL hoped to shave about 30 minutes off the process.

Our group saw a machine after it was in the box (and ready for final inspection) which had been built in almost exactly 4 1/2 hours.

Oh, and at the beginning of the line, we saw a machine being started that had been ordered the day before.

*david thinks*

The way I see it, if DELL could beam those units to the person's desk, they could deliver the units in half the time!!!

BEAM me UP, Mikey!!!!!
