It was 1969 in Woodstock, New York.

That brings back memories. I graduated from high school in 1969 and lived only 150 miles from the festival site, but unfortunately I did not attend. The Woodstock festival was actually held on Max Yasgur's farm in Bethel, NY (near Monticello). I know the organizers had difficulty finding a site in a town that would allow them to hold the concert. I don't think it was ever planned for Woodstock, NY an artistic community in upstate NY.

I have often regretted not going to Woodstock.

Norma,

I enjoyed the story about your trip in the Mercury Cougar, but I have one question. Woodstock started on August 15 and you were in the car on your way there on July 20. How long did it take to get from Texas to New York in 1969? Or did go early to get a good parking spot?ÿ;)
