Dr. Engel:

Intel shipped Q2= 20M CPU and AMD shipped 2.7M. I calculated AMD has 11.9% of the market compared to Intel. I estimate Q3 AMD will ship 5M. This means Intel must ship 37M CPU in Q3 to maintain market share. Is this possible for Intel?

Paul your post seems to be pretty much on point in terms of summarizing my conerns about AMD. The only point I would question is Dresden dragging down P/L in the fourth quarter; I'm pretty sure it won't be a concern until 1999.

For a period of time on this thread when AMD was having yield problems, many were saying that AMD's "window of opportunity" was closing. I didn't think that was correct and AMD has continued to grow market share. Unfortunately, I do not think it has been enough to absorb the capacity which will be brough on with Dresden.

That being said, I still own my AMD shares; at least for now.

>>During the Conference Call, Sanders was hedging his answers, stating that AMD was no longer SUPPLY LIMITED, but now they may be DEMAND LIMITED.

That's night mare for AMD share holders. So these is no more "AMD can sell as much K-6 as they can produce"

Look who is driving a car with no gas padel, no brake, no steering wheel....AMD?
