Thanks Suresh. Competition will catch up within a year. I am not recommending to short the stock now. Shorting hasn't generally paid off in the last five weeks.

To make myself more clear......

In a post to Jim back in June, I said that some of us usually try to take advantage of market dips by shorting stocks as quick play. I also said that turnarounds will take place quickly so I will avoid this approach in the coming weeks. Instead, I'll wait and buy the dips.

Since then, my only shorts have been a few net stocks a couple of weeks ago and DELL & TLAB two days ago since I expected small profit taking ahead of MSFT. DELL dipped with the market by 3 points but TLAB reported blowout earnings before the open(I wish all companies report either before or after).

By the end of this week I will know if the same approach should be applied in the next few weeks.

My thinking right now is that volatilty will pick up after this week and I will be inclined to play the short side based on where I think the market is heading next day.

Hi Suresh. Weekends are great since one has the opportunity to re-calibrate & get prepared for the week ahead.

Do us a favor, ONLY IF you get a chance. Put together a "tailored" list of some tech/DOW companies that are reporting this week. Choose the ones that we care about, the ones that affect the entire market or their individual sector....You know which stocks to include.....

We'll then try to come up with a strategy to play some of them.

If you don't get a chance, that's fine. I'll try to do it tomorrow morning before market opens.

I'll be busy at work all day tomorrow.

Clint

It looked like most of the revenue gain came from a 50% increase in disk drive related business to asian manufacturers? Sounds like a blip but am looking more at it.
