Through today.

Armageddon has done $128.5M (domestic box office) while Mulan is now at $101M (domestic).

Both Armageddon and Mulan are on track to breaking even or making money at the box office.

Armageddon needs approximately $400M worldwide in Box office receipts and Mulan needs about $225M in worldwide receipts to break even. (Remember a little less than half of the box office $ goes to the theaters.

Arm and Mulan are playing in just a few other countries. Arm will be in the larger countries over the next four weekends while Mulan will be released more slowly over the next few months.

IMO, if Arm can get to $175 to $200M (box office) in the US, we will have no problem reaching $400M worldwide.

I believe Mulan will also do as well or better than it's US receipts in the international markets which will easily make it profitable before it goes to video.

It may take another few weeks, but I believe analysts will have to admit they underestimated studio earnings for the remainder of this year and next year.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I would not be surprised to see Arm generate $150 to $200M in TV, pay for view, cable, and video while Mulan can generate $300 to $350M in video profits worldwide. All we need is for both of the pictures to break even at the box office.
