Based on the level of quals (10 in the works from 3.2 to 4.3)there should be a steady stream of announcements throughout the next two quarters. From what I recall (cc) a WDC qual. sounded as if it was basically a done deal. Just waiting for formal addition to the AVL, and authorization to report. This would be a biggie since WDC / IBM did much to drive us to this level.

At least I hope we see news on quals. What other impetus is there to drive this stock aside from a general recovery in the sector? New product news has no effect.

Larry

Dennis,

Could you clarify what you mean by RDRT's "unique" heads? Also, (I didn't listen to CC) were Lowe's statements about pending quals echoed by others? If I am not mistaken, Lowe was the one who (twice, I believe - at least once) stated that the June qtr revenues would show a 10 - 20% sequential growth over March.

I spoke with John Kurtzweil., RDRT's CFO today. He indicated that they would not predict the timing of quals in the future. It is too hard for RDRT to predict the timing of a qual because it depends on factors other than the heads. They will announce only after the qual has occurred. Like they said in the CC that they are working on four 3.2 to 3.4 programs currently and are confident that these will occur sometime in the quarter.
John mentioned that WDC 3.4GB/platter drives were not shipping yet.
They expect to introduce GMR in the same time frame as IBM.
