John, I don't know about rural areas.Right now some of the restrictions are that not all copper wire in place is suitable and you have to be within a certain distance from a central switching facility.Off hand, I forget how many feet,but I think it's just over a mile. It could be more limited than some think as I don't know the potential/limitation in the commercial and/or residential markets.But it's worth a watch for me.I used to follow it more closely up to about a year or so ago and tried to read most press releases and rag publications on the subject,but have gotten lazy.
