Pat Robertson had a show on this last week-end. He had member of the Christian branch of the Year 2000 Problem experts. The highest up in the field within the totally Christian environment. (Christian as in committment--not Christian as in being born in America where most of the churches are protestant or Catholic). Their predictions are quite, quite dire. Very doubtful that the world will be able to check the possible 20 BILLION whatever they are called circuits necessary to be sure, out of which at least 10 MILLION will need to be adjusted to work properly rather than jam up because they can't proceed on their usual circuitry.

Also, a cam corder was tested and programmed to 2000. What happened was the tape popped out and it jammed. It was a permanent jam and the person volunteering the cam corder had to send it to the factory and they replaced it with a new one.

It was a very interesting discussion and they send a free brochure to wake people up. I don't know if they have a web site, but I'm sure the 2000 panel being quizzed does.

Anyway, just another source of info the dear officials in charge of Publicspeak will not readily volunteer if asked.
