The VSE has a policy that you can only short during price increases. keith - Please explain. I think you are referring to the uptick rule which is rarely enforced - It is a short sale may be only made on an uptick or the last price change prior to the short sale being an uptick - This happens in falling stocks just the sale is an uptick.
