Well if AMD is expecting to be producing wafers for sale in 1H '99, then the
equipment should already be in place and unit process (gate growth, lithography, ...)
development/transfer must be happening as we type ... otherwise ... you are
right, it could well be a replay of the Sunnyvale -> MegaFlop25 (tm PREngle)
transfer for .35um . Amd had better get that "process deal" signed and sealed
with Motorola soon !!! <ggg>

What percentage of Dresden fab costs is Germany sibsidizing? I have been told it is around 90% of the 2 billion dollar fab. What impact will this bill footing by Germany do to AMD's bottom line for earnings from FAB30?
