I had heard that they were very close to a qual on WDC however. I wonder what has happened to that one. This may just be wishful thinking on my part, however, one of the reasons that John Kurtzweil gave me for RDRT's new policy not to preannounce quals was that the drive maker could have problems with other parts of the drive and this would delay the actual qual of the heads although the problem had nothing to do with the head. Perhaps the 3.4 qual at WDC is being delayed by a problem with another part of the drive.
