Cargo From Asia Overwhelms U.S. Transportion Companies

Santa could end up stranded at the dock this year.

A record flood of cargo from Asia is overwhelming transportation companies, crowding ships, trains and trucks. Already, U.S. companies are seeing weeks-long delays getting their goods from overseas, just as the traditional heavy holiday import season is revving up. Making matters worse are the snafus at Hong Kong's airport, a major air-cargo hub, that have snarled some shipments and now could last until the end of August.
