Just to put things into perspective......

August Money magazine issue, highlights the top stocks and funds over the past 20 years...
For the best stocks with the greatest return for 1998 I will highlight a few: If you had invested 1,000 on Jan 1, 1998, then on
Jun 30 the value would be in SEEK, 3337 for a % gain of 233.7 with stock price of 35.88. This was the no 15th best stock. 16th place was AMZN with a value of 3311 for a return of 231.1 with a stock price of 99.75. In 20th place was XCIT with a value of 3117 with a percent return of 211.7. share value of 93.5. By the way, the no 1 best total return was General Magic GMGC with a value of 8955 return of 795.5% and value of stock on Jun 30 at 12.31.

Just for grins, the best performing bull market stock for the last 16 years was listed as Franklin Resources (BEN). The value of a 1000 investment in Aug 1, 1982 would give you a 59.9% return for a value of $1,752,583 with a share price of 54.00 on June 30, 1998.
