Was the ASIC number a typo? ASIC houses get ~25 wafers/reticle.

What is the reason for the short lifetime of reticles ?? One solution
for "short run" ASIC's is to combine different ASIC designs onto one
reticle thus spreading the reticle cost among a few designs. One
company (Mosis) has a business doing just this.
