Re: promotion - just caught a glimpse of the end of a commercial / informercial for BID.com. It was on CH. 21 on Rogers Cable (Toronto) (right before the Suzzane Sommers exercise gadget <g>). Not exactly the whopping advertising that many may be hoping for, but it is a start. Bowflex started advertising that way and was trading at $1 or so last year at this time before hitting a high of $15-$16 a couple of months ago (although it has to be acknowledged that they are different companies with different products).

Cush, Found it on the shopping page. What do they pay for that? Big $$ I bet.
I feel that newer better places will evolve to act as unbiased gateways. Everyone knows AOL is pad to have bid.com there and the others are hidden.
I expect specialty sites will evolve for auctions etc that will be unbiased and eventually people will gravitate there as they get a better repertoire of choice from them. AOL is getting like an infomercial.
Bid.com is adapting and changing and it needs to find the best way and beat the others to it. The field is so easy to enter that it is already crowded.
