Eric, not for a moment do I condone or minimize them, but to me it seems the possibility of these threats originating from MTEI enemies is just as likely as their being the work of a misguided 'friend'.

Whatever the case, whoever you are, I hope they find you and bring the roof down on you.

eric, no rational and objective person could read my post and conclude that I was "suggesting that the company is involved with this fellow in some way". For you to conclude thusly demonstrates on your part either poor reading comprehension skills or a desire to distort my meaning.

What I was suggesting was that there is out there among you at least one demented excuse for a human being who is so wrapped up in this Rocketeer cult's determination to avoid any meaningful analysis of mtei that he/she has chosen to make death threats against mtei critics by private message on SI.

"...why doesn't Janice and crew simply identify the cretin..."

SI has a strict privacy policy. Techies I know have told me that it is not possible to hack through SI without their awareness and/or cooperation. So 'Janice and crew' can't trace it back, it's up to SI - who, I understand, are more than willing to cooperate fully. They don't need this crap any more than you or I or 'Janice and crew'. But SI can only go back so far as the ISP (I think) of the 'trial member', and from there back the cooperation of AOL (likely) is necessary. The Feds can secure that easily, if interested.

Busy day here today, the other five posts to me here will have to wait for responses .... cheers
