Diversification:

Ken, it isn't necessarily all that good, either. (Note: this poster was evidently betting on certain stocks to decline, and we don't know what kind of due diligence he did. Although I wouldn't normally post someone's woes publicly, it worries me to see so many new investors trying to get rich yesterday without understanding that increased opportunity always tangos with increased risk!)

... While at the doctors getting scans to assess my health, I took more than a 50K unexpected hit while under the instruments for an afternoon and out of contact. Since then, although I was in 7 unrelated sectors which have amazingly in concert worked against me-basic diversification, but unsuccessful. I have been so badly battered by all this in the last two weeks, I am close to being manipulated to death, and on a forced run of horrendous liquidations. ... I had a breath of financial health, but my capital is now in jeopardy--it is not likely to be enough to support my family.....
