Thank you for the conference call info. I received a call from
Robert Sison, Manager Investor Relations, with LSI. I asked Robert
why LSI didn't make a greater effort to keep the investment community
better informed about LSI's activities - specifically the Symbios
acquisition. Robert noted that LSI was limited on what could be said
until the acquisition was ok'd by the applicable authorities.(It seems to me that other companies feel free to discuss acquisitions at the time of the initial press release). I then asked if LSI would be able to discuss the acquistion during the
conference call. Robert noted that they would discuss Symbios to some
extent during the conference call. Robert noted that LSI did not try
to manage the short term price swings. I do appreciate that Robert was very limited in what he could say given that quarterly results
are due out this week. Robert noted that he follows the SOX index
and that he feels that LSI's stock price is performing in line with
the index. I think that he was telling me that LSI's performance
is right in line with other semi related stocks. I wish I had asked
if he felt comfortable with that performance given that LSI's CEO
has spoken about LSI outperforming the semi industry by 8 or 10 % this
year. Robert did note that he reads postings pertaining to LSI on the
internet. Finally, Robert noted that the semi industry was a cyclical
industry and it is currently in a down phase. I do not think he
was implying in any way what LSI was necessarily continuing in a down
phase. I sure hope not.
