GeoCities.. and CMGI... a look. I have my personal web page on GeoCities and I'm expecting a very good reception of this IPO as well.

Earnings coming for internet stocks:
7/21 PSINET
7/21 USWEB
7/22 AMZN
7/22 BVSN (actually expected to earn)
7/22 MSPG (extremely bullish on that one)
7/23 CNET
7/23 SEEK
7/23 OMKT
7/28 NSOL (another one expected to earn)

CMGI is a great stock because they invest in the internet. Their major investments are in companies like Accipiter.

....As the prices of many Internet stocks continue to surge, the shares of publicly traded CMG have risen dramatically as well, more than doubling in 1998 alone. Many investors see CMG as an easy way of investing in an Internet ventur-capital or mutual fund. They have recently invested in Lycos, and GeoCities. They are now focusing on e-commerce. They are invested in things like (online video store) Reel.com. Chemdex, which is a business-to-business opportunity targeting life-science products. The next several years will be focused on e-commerce.

Wetherell the CEO and president says: We're more like a mutual fund, so you need to look at the net asset value of our holdings, rather than profits and revenues. In the early stages of a hyper growth industry, you want to gain market share--in fact, if you're profitable early on, you're probably not maximizing your opportunity. ... Eventually the Web will mature and resemble more of an earnings play....
