My thoughts.

First of all. Thanks BIG Dog for bringing this situation to our attention.

It's true that many companies have spent million/billions looking for a ssDNA vector that can be directed to specific cell types where it can then affect certain specified activities. This kind of genetic manipulation involves at least 2 areas - turning things "on" (i.e. gene expression) and turning things "off" (i.e. antisense). Evidently, the CYGS technology functions to turn things "off."

It's also true that it's just a matter of time before SOMEONE solves this problem. And when that happens it will indeed be news that rocks the medical world.

Furthermore, it doesn't take gigantic outlays to conduct this kind of research. What it does take is someone with the smarts to figure out how to do it. This means that it won't necessarily be a Fortune 500 company who is successful.

All the DD in the world won't uncover a major discovery other than through hearsay until the company makes an announcement.

None of us can know if Big Dog is right or not.. even him, but he believes the story to be true. Yes, we can read and call the company but we have to wait and place bets in the meantime.or not play! Without details of what they have done, all our discussion is pure speculation. There are always tradeoffs in biology. I would expect some here, but again what they are is simply unknown at this time.
