Greg, Dell toasters? Not in Austin. You just stick your bread outside the window for 5 minutes and it's crispy. But I do believe one thing. That as the computer learns to speak, listen, learn(AI=> to software agents, see, and feel(sensors), it becomes a very different thing,i.e., a natural interface, where the idea of using a computer blends into the appliance and becomes background. I dont know if I want my TV saying Hello to me when I walk into a room, or asking me if I have gained weight lately, but if I can give it, the TV, a verbal URL (go get me a movie, based on intelligent software which has learned my tastes), well, I can live with that. See you in 5 years! Literally. Where will you see this convergence first? Probably in Bill Gate's house. stephen
