I B M will make its ThinkPads lighter , brighter - "It Be Mobile"

Eventually most networked business desktops will replaced by USP (univ. serial port(s)) docking laptops for portability .

The major drawback to this evolution is about to be removed by IBM :

" New LCD technology that will make notebooks lighter, thinner, and less power-hungry is set to arrive from IBM in the first half of next year.

At 5mm long, 0.197 inches thick, and just over 370 grams in weight, the 12.1-inch display will be about 20 percent lighter and 50 percent thinner than current displays.
