"...The Children's Television Workshop website, the Internet home for Big Bird and the other muppets of Sesame Street, is undergoing a makeover to get ready for back-to-school.

But the dirty little secret behind preschoolers' favorite television show is that grownups like it too.

"Forty-five percent of people who watch Sesame Street are parents," said Tina Sharkey, the group vice president and general manager of Children's Television Workshop Online. The site was launched in 1997...[Children's Television Workshop] is one of the foremost brands for the age-group."

The not-for-profit company is building out. The network doesn't stop at the computer, said Sharkey.

The company will roll out its first Sony PlayStation title in the fall, as well as licensing an interactive Big Bird and producing a CD-ROM. The company has also signed agreements to provide its content to Excite..."
