I know that to be true Alastair. It was among many of the changes made last year. I still haven't researched the admin law/ regs. I don't know the thresholds. To me it is a meaningless law. It only serves the IRS coffers. However, people profiting from the decline of a stock should be just as liable to taxes as their bullish counterparts. I suppose it is an equal treatment under the law, although I doubt that was the motivation behind it.
