Loved your post! Complexity affinity! To me Bach is as complex as it gets-his fugues baffle me-I can pull them part voice by voice and strand by strand and think well-yeah--there it is! But it isn't. WHere'd it go?
Your post makes me think of Gaugie's and my conversation about the chemical soup of the brain, that the things we rely on aren't nearly as US as we would want to believe, but the particular hormonal and synaptical recipe of the day. Perhaps all those little bones in our ears are just vibrating at the right frequency to cause pleasure to you with Stravinsky- and LS and I hear it and it makes our teeth ache.

I will definitely keep the Casull out of CW's hands during Mussorgsky. Especially if Ammo's around. Do you think a defense could be built around that---sort of like rap music. Snoop Doggy Dog Mussorgsky
