A perspective on "selling" TDFX

I assume that you do not give me the control of your life and blindly
do as I say. So it is your responsibility to assess if the point I
make works for you or not. I try to avoid making emotional argument
or blanket statements of the nature "this dog is a @$%& and will never
amount to anything. We should all call the IR and jam their phone
lines and..." I make my arguments logical so that the readers (as well
as myself) can see the points clearly (or point out the flaws) without
the emotional clutter that can cloud one's judgement. Having said
that, I was going to suggest that if you don't want to sell it,
keep TDFX with the understanding that it is unlikely to make a
substantial up move anytime soon or even load up on it if you think
that it is a far better investment for your time horizon than
other market opportunities.

But what would be the point of that statement? Anyone who disagrees
with the logic of my post would not have listened anyways. Are we
living a world that when a total stranger says dump the stock a good
number of people just run to the hills and dump it? If I have such a
power please let me know so I can make a more profitable use of it. I
don't think there is anything wrong with a blanket (or pillow ;D) or
any other kind of statement so long as it is coherent, logical, (well
documented?) and most importantly, does not lend itself to emotional
flame wars.

On a more personal note, I've been reading this forum for quite
sometime. I've benefited from the good posts of Chip and many others
like him who have brought things to my attention that I would not have
otherwise known. The trial membership has provided me with a way of
repaying the net for the benefits that it has silently provided me for
so long (and not as a way of showing off my wisdom as some may
suspect). Once the trial is over, I will be on my way (unless I get a
free membership of course :D). By far the best part of SI IMO is
reading the good posts, and that I can do without joining.

PS I'm afraid that my ego has grown so high, that it is no longer in
need of stroking from others. Now if only I was a little humble
I'd be perfect :^)
