Thanks for the Westell link. I had come across that a while back and do refer to it on occasion for reference. It is a good depiction of the overall architecture.

Westell has several arrangements in place with current DLC suppliers to make the DLCs now being built to be compatible with their xDSL system. Along with others. It gets complicated when trying to make remote access systems compatible when there are competing standards as there are in the ADSL case. Do you build for CAP based modems or DMT based modems? DMT is the accepted standard but there are lot of CAP based modems out there.
